The Current State of Digital Literacy of Future Social Work Professionals in the Formation of Professional Competencies

Abstract

 In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, Industry 4.0 in the process of human development, advances in artificial intelligence in the digital age and the rapid development of information technology, the close connection of digital skills with interdisciplinary processes open up many opportunities in society and pose important challenges for countries and various sectors, including higher education. The modern development of digital literacy of future specialists in the field of social work in accordance with digital technological changes in society is becoming increasingly relevant in the formation of digital competencies and skills of future specialists in social work in the field of information technology, communication and media literacy, as well as in the development of an online system for providing various services, ensuring the information security of social groups. The purpose of the article is to study the current state of digital literacy in the formation of professional competencies of future Bachelors of Social Work in universities.Methods and data: General theoretical methods of analysis were used in a systematic review of the scientific literature on the formation of quantitative competence. 43 undergraduate students of Al-Farabi kaznu took part in an empirical study of the level of digital literacy. Survey and testing data were processed in the SPSS-26 program.Results: according to the Kruskal–Wallis test for independent variables, it was shown that despite the high level of media and communicative literacy, there is a low level of skills in working with spreadsheets and programs.(.the significance is confirmed at α=0.040 < 0.05). The main problems of level-specific skills associated with the courses of students were identified, methodological recommendations were given.
