The formation of media competence of schoolchildren: from theory to practiceю

In the article the problems of interaction of modern youth audience with the means of mass communication and information in terms of the necessity of formation of media competence. Having analyzed known in the science of interpretation of the concepts of «media literacy», «media competence», the authors propose a simplified language: media competence – a set of abilities to use, analyze, evaluate the media, capacity for independent, creative and socially responsible action in relation to the media. The authors emphasize that the front of the school there was an urgent need for the formation of media competence of schoolchildren as the rapid development of threads mass media actively involves all children of any ages in the processes of rmote communication, not only the media and other mass media violate the generally accepted moral norms, use a variety of manipulative technologies to influence the consciousness of the viewer, reader. According to the authors practice of the development of media competence in schools will become the basis of the critical attitude to the media and understanding of their nature and purpose, will help to find out the mechanisms of creation of media materials and media texts. In the article the authors have made the model of development of media competence of pupils and the results of the mini research to identify the level of development of media competence of pupils of 9 classes of school № 118. Positive dynamics of development of media competence of students after a formative stage a mini-research gives authors the opportunity to recommend our experience in the field of the media competence of students.Downloads
