Terms for publication of the manuscript
Journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) is published 4 times a year in the online (electronic) format in the following deadlines for the publication of issues of the journal: the first issue is published until March 20th of the current year, the second issue - until June 20th ; the third issue - until September 20th and the fourth issue-until December 20th.
It is accepted previously unpublished articles by the author (s) in Kazakh, Russian or English for publication in the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series”, which correspond to the thematic directions of the journal and are designed strictly according to the requirements of the manuscript.
The manuscript of a scientific article is submitted to the editorial board by the author for correspondence (determined from the author's team of the manuscript in the presence of 2 or more co-authors) at least two months before the next issue of the journal is published. For publication in the journal, manuscripts with a volume (excluding the title, information about the authors, annotation, keywords, bibliographic list) of at least 3,000 words and no more than 7,000 words are accepted.
The manuscript must be uploaded via the electronic platform by the author for correspondence, indicating all the metadata of the article and its authors. An article by the same author (prepared individually or co-authored) may be published in the journal no more than once during a calendar year.
Authors must submit to the editorial board an original work that has not previously been published in other publications (in print, electronic and other open sources). The authors are responsible for the reliability, novelty, and evidence-based nature of the research results. At the stage of reviewing the manuscript by the editorial board and reviewers of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series”, as well as after its publication, the authors undertake not to submit this manuscript for consideration for publication in another publication.
At the stages of working with the manuscript, communication between the editorial board, the author for correspondence and reviewers is carried out through the electronic (online) platform OJS, and in exceptional cases-through e-mail.
The editorial board of the journal considers the manuscripts received from the author/authors, organizes their review and makes a decision on publication or refusal to publish within two months from the date of receipt of the manuscript via the electronic platform.
The author(s) of the manuscript, approved for publication in the journal are obliged to pay for the publication in accordance with the approved price list of the cost of publication in scientific journals of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, published on the journal's website. A receipt for payment for publication in pdf format has to be sent by the author(s) to the e-mail address of the journal's editorial office.
Borrowing and plagiarism
Editorial Board of "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) in the consideration of the manuscript for compliance with the formal requirements (registration manuscripts) also checks for the presence of borrowed text in the manuscript through a plagiarism check system, access to which is provided by a university subscription or on the basis of a national subscription.
Only original manuscripts and/or those manuscripts in which, according to the results of verification through the anti-plagiarism system, the originality is more than 75% are sent for further review. If the manuscript does not meet the requirements for registration in the journal and is not an original work based on the results of the plagiarism check, the manuscript is returned to the author for correspondence to make appropriate changes and re-send the manuscript for consideration by the editorial board through the electronic platform of the journal.
If the authors used the works, articles, statements, or quotations and statements of other researchers when writing the manuscript, they must necessarily refer to the works of these scientists and correctly formalize the cited text. Plagiarism is considered an unethical act that violates the principles of the Code of Ethics of a scientist of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and is unacceptable in the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. A series of pedagogical science".
Persons involved in the publishing process, especially members of the editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences), in order to ensure the high quality of scientific publications, to avoid unfair practices in publishing activities, such as the use of false information, falsification of data, etc., to ensure the recognition of scientific achievements by society, undertake to comply with the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics adopted by the international community and al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as to take measures to prevent such violations.
Members of the Editorial Board of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. A series of pedagogical science" undertake not to allow the authors, members of the editorial board, reviewers to violate the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics adopted by the international community and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In case of detection of violations of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics, adopted by the international community and in al-Farabi KazNU, the editorial Board undertakes to act in accordance with the "Publication Ethics for journals of al-Farabi KazNU", the Code of ethics of the scientist al-Farabi KazNU and standards of Committee of publication ethics (COPE).
If a provable fact (s) of violation of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics is found in an article published in the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences), the editorial board undertakes to remove this article from the issue in which it was published and from the official website of the journal (to retract the article) with the mandatory indication of specific violations by the author (s) of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics and place an appropriate announcement in the next issue of the journal.
The author (s) of the article, in which a provable fact of violation of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics was found, are not allowed to submit articles to the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) and in other scientific journals published by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University during the next 3 calendar years from the date of detection of the fact (s) of violation of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics.
The review process
Manuscripts submitted to the editorial office of the journal and meeting the formal requirements, design requirements and originality indicator on the basis of verification through the plagiarism verification system are necessarily sent for further review.
If the author(s) of the manuscript has a conflict of interest with other scientists, he (she) is obliged to indicate the existence of such a conflict of interest in the cover letter, in order to avoid sending this manuscript to the specified scientist (reviewer) and biased assessments of the manuscript.
The journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) uses "two-way-blind" peer review, which is carried out by at least two scientists who have the degree of Candidate of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and scientific specialization on the subject of the reviewed manuscript.
The review is conducted confidentially: the manuscript of the article is sent to reviewers via the electronic platform of the journal without specifying the data about the authors. Reviewers are required to make a clear, objective and reasoned assessment of the manuscript's compliance with the main scientific criteria, as well as its quality and significance.
After receiving the conclusions from the reviewers, the responsible editor sends them to the author for correspondence without specifying the reviewers' data, for responding to comments, making appropriate changes and re-sending the manuscript via the electronic platform. The author(s) may refuse without explanation to respond to comments, make changes to the manuscript and re-send it to the editorial office of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. A series of pedagogical science".
After responding to all comments, making changes to the manuscript to eliminate the comments of reviewers and re-sending it to the editorial office of the journal, the scientific editor sends all materials to the reviewer (s) for re-reviewing.
The manuscript, which has positive conclusions from two reviewers and the responsible editor, is recommended for publication in the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences)" according to the order of their acceptance for publication. Manuscripts approved by the editorial board are submitted to the executive Secretary for the formation of the journal issue.
If one of the reviewers provided a positive opinion on the manuscript, and the second – a negative one, the manuscript is sent by the scientific editor to the third reviewer or a member of the editorial board who is a specialist in the subject of the manuscript. If a third reviewer or a member of the editorial board provides a positive conclusion, the final decision on accepting/rejecting the publication of the manuscript is made by the scientific editor of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences).
In case of two negative reviews, the manuscript is rejected from publication in the journal.
The materials of articles rejected by the editorial board based on the results of reviewing are not used by the editorial board for its own purposes. The editor or executive secretary notifies the author for correspondence about the refusal to publish, and sends the reviewers' conclusions. Reviews of manuscripts are stored for three years in electronic format on the electronic platform of the journal.
The term of review is appointed by the editor responsible for the article and the term of review of the manuscript by reviewers composes not more than two months from the date of sending the material to reviewers.
Open access policy and archiving
The journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) provides open access to its content on the official website of the journal. This provides wider information access to the journal in the global scientific community. The journal's website also provides the necessary information for authors and readers about the journal's activities: publication conditions, rules for registration and submission of manuscripts to the journal, the procedure for forming the journal and reviewing manuscripts, publication ethics, information about the editorial board, contact details of the scientific editor and executive secretary.
Readers and authors can get acquainted with electronic versions of the current issue of the journal and archives for previous periods. All publications of the journal in electronic form are distributed free of charge and without restrictions under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
Copyright and Licensing
The authors of articles of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) retain the author's right on scientific work and pass the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensing it under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
The authorship of the manuscript belongs to those researchers who participated directly in the creation of the manuscript in the conception, writing, interpretation of results and made a significant contribution in obtaining scientific results.
Under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, authors retain the rights to their manuscripts, while allowing everyone to freely download, reuse, reprint, change, distribute or copy them, with a mandatory mark of authorship of this work and a link to a unique publication in this journal. For all these actions, when specifying a link to the journal, permission from the authors or publisher is not required.
The authors retain the right to distribute their article in other sources (for example, in the institutional archive, social networks, etc.) with a mandatory link to its original publication in this journal.
Terms of confidentiality
Members of the Editorial Board of the journal "Bulletin of KazNU. The pedagogical sciences series” (Journal of Educational Sciences) does not disclose information about the manuscript accepted for consideration before its publication to third parties, except for appointed reviewers. Also, the editorial board does not disclose information about reviewers to authors and other persons. Information data about authors – their names, affiliation, contact information, information about their position and academic degree, as well as links to the identifiers of authors ' profiles in international databases are placed in the article in the section "Information about authors".
These and other rules of conduct of participants of the publication process, namely principles, norms and standards of behavior for authors, Editorial Board members, publishers and reviewers are based on the Ethics of publishing to scientific journals of al-Farabi KazNU.
