Application of art technologies as means of students self esteem formation in the adaptation period

The article provides the definitions of the art technology and art therapy.Art technology is a system of methods, tricks and techniques of artistic creativity, promoting self-expression and personal development. The features of the phenomena of transference and counter-transference in art
therapy are noted. The model of the application of the art technologies is developed and their impact on self-esteem of students in the adaptation period is considered. The model includes goals, objectives, principles and mechanisms to achieve results. The program “Start with yourself” of application
of art technology for the formation of self-esteem of the first year students in the adaptation period was developed. The program has been tested in the educational process with the first-year students of specialties “Social pedagogy and self-knowledge” and “Pedagogy and Psychology”.
As an example, a brief scenario of art therapeutic session based on mask therapy ROUND DANCE of MASKS is described.
